Scarlett Johansson was born on November 22, 1984, at New York City New York. She is an American actor and singer whose talents have gained her recognition across a range of types of films ranging from thrillers and adventure films to period dramas. Johansson has a father who is a film director and architect. Her family was based in New York City. She was the twin sister of Hunter and her were her youngest siblings. When she was a child she discovered a love for acting. She began performing in commercials by the age seven. To improve her abilities, she studied at the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute in Manhattan and then the Professional Children's School. In her early years, Johansson appeared in Sophistry with Ethan Hawke and made her movie debut at Rob Reiner's North on the set of Rob Reiner's North in. Johansson subsequently starred in Just Cause (1995), but her first break came through Manny & Lo a coming of age film about sisters who run away.
